George Guida

George Guida is the author of The Peasant and the Pen: Men, Enterprise, and the Recovery of Culture in Italian American Narrative (Peter Lang, 2003). He has published poems, stories, and essays in The Columbia Journal of American Studies, Italian Americana, MELUS, Perspectives, PMLA, Poetry New York, The Paterson Literary Review, Red Shift, Quarto, Voices in Italian Americana and other journals and collections. He
teaches Creative Writing and English at New York City College of Technology (CUNY), where he is an assistant professor, and Italian American Studies at SUNY-Stony Brook. His essay on Louis Prima's 1950s stage show, entitled "Las Vegas Jubilee," is forthcoming in The Journal of Popular Culture (2004). In addition to editing the IAWA Newsletter, he also serves as IAWA's Treasurer.
