Vittoria repetto identifies
herself as the hardest working guinea butch dyke poet on NYC’s lower east
side. She has been published in Mudfish, Voices in Italian Americana, The
Paterson Literary Review, Italian Americana, Rattle, Lips, Unsettling
American: An Anthology of Contemporary Multicultural Poetry, Hey Paesan!
Writing by Lesbians & Gay Men of Italian Descent, Curaggia:
Writing by Women of Italian Descent, The Milk of Almonds: Italian
American Women Writers on Food And Culture and Harrington Lesbian Fiction
Quarterly, among others. She has a poetry chapbook entitled Head for the
Van Wyck.
Her poems have been chosen as "Editor's Choice" for the 2003 &
2004 editions of the Paterson Literary Review
Her first short story “The Morning Prayer” was published in Best
Lesbian Love Stories 2003 by Alyson Publications.
Vittoria repetto is the vice
president of the Italian American Writers Association, the editor of the IAWA
newsletter and the person behind the IAWA email at iawanewsletter@aol.com.
And she has been hosting the Women’s Poetry Jam at Bluestockings Bookstore
since June 2000.
Guernica Editions will publish her first poetry
book Not Just A Personal Ad in Winter 2005/Spring 2006.
